Joker, began his life living as a so-called pet in an apartment in Grand Island, Nebraska. As he grew, it became readily apparent to his owner that Foxes do not make good pets so Joker was surrendered to a wildlife rescue-rehabilitation organization that could provide a better, temporary home for the active kit. Knowing he could not be released into the wild and that they could not provide a suitable lifelong home, the organization arranged for a zoo to take Joker. Serendipitously, that arrangement fell through and the facility discovered The Wild Animal Sanctuary, which welcomed Joker and his unbounded energy with open arms where he will now live his life much more naturally in a spacious habitat with many others of his kind
